Building a Gingerbread House from Scratch
轉眼間又到年尾,還有不到一個星期就到聖誕節了,今年的你過得怎麼樣呢? 我還未習慣澳洲熱辣辣的聖誕,總覺得聖誕節應該是天寒地凍,然後穿著厚厚的衣服,吃暖洋洋的料理,煮一鍋香料紅酒或喝一杯焦糖脆脆棉花糖朱古力(可參考我之前的post啦🤣),這
Instructions
1)牛油室溫放軟,加入砂糖用矽膠刮拌至順滑,然後加入雞蛋,再加入麵粉和香辛料拌成麵團,放入雪櫃冷藏1小時。
2)把麵團取出,用兩張大的烘焙紙夾住麵團,先壓幾下,然後再用桿麵杖桿成約4mm厚,放上圖紙用小刀切出需要的圖形,如要窗戶、門口等,也記得要先切才焗。
3)放入已預熱170度的焗爐,中層焗大約12分鐘後取出放涼。
準備糖霜 1)半隻蛋白加入糖霜和檸檬汁慢慢拌勻,然後用打蛋器拌至完全融合發白,要跟據乾濕程度加糖霜或一兩滴水調整,目標狀態是可以畫出線條不化開,放入唧袋備用。
準備工作做好後,就開始最好玩的過程啦 我的做法是先在薑餅上畫出喜歡的花紋,完全乾透後才開始組裝,我用餅乾模具幫忙固定,不然就需要用手扶住薑餅至糖霜乾透。
Tips: ❄️如過程中不小心令薑餅斷裂,不要怕,用糖霜作膠水黏好乾透後又可以繼續啦。 ❄️如薑餅焗後邊位不夠直或尺寸有誤差,可以用檸檬/芝士刨刀磨去邊位。 ❄️如需要加小燈,要考慮組裝後能否加到,不然就要組裝過程中加。
大約就是這樣啦,發揮不同創意,也可以用糖霜當膠水黏一些糖果做裝飾,小朋友更喜歡色彩繽紛的糖果屋呢😆
As the year quickly comes to an end, Christmas is just a week away. How has your year been? I'm still getting used to the hot Christmas in Australia, always feeling that Christmas should be cold, with thick clothing, warm dishes, a pot of mulled wine, or a cup of caramelized marshmallow chocolate (check out my previous post for that🤣) for the real Christmas vibe.
In Australia, many families make their own gingerbread houses for Christmas decorations. I've joined in on the tradition and made my first gingerbread house this year, starting from scratch: designing, baking the gingerbread, piping the icing, and then 'building' the house. It wasn't smooth sailing, like baking two walls but forgetting to cut out windows, wrong chimney sizes, broken cookie windows, and many other issues🤣. But, luckily, it all worked out in the end!
